Frohes Neues Jahr!
Ihr fragt Euch jetzt vermutlich: Ist Sebastian mit den Neujahrswünschen nicht ein bisschen spät dran? Das stimmt schon — allerdings nur eine Woche! Denn pünktlich zum Frühjahrsbeginn letztes Wochenende hat auch das neue Jahr im Persischen Kalender begonnen. Nowruz, das persische Neujahrsfest, ist der wichtigste Feiertag und hat einen ähnlichen Stellenwert wie bei uns Weihnachten.
Wir haben es zu Hause mit einem traditionellen “Nowruz”-Tisch gefeiert. Dabei wird ein Tisch für zwei Wochen mit verschiedenen Symbolen geschmückt.
Eine schöne Überraschung waren dabei die “Ostereier”. Bunt bemalte Eier scheinen im Frühling ein beliebtes Symbol in vielen Kulturen zu sein!

Auf der linken Seite seht Ihr die “haft sin” (wörtlich: sieben “S”), die in Farsi tatsächlich alle mit einem “S” beginnen (fünf auf dem Silbertablett, der Knoblauch und die grünen Kräuter), und verschiedene Bedeutungen haben. Der Knoblauch (“sir”) symbolisiert die Medizin, die Dattel-ähnlichen getrockneten Früchte(“senjed”) stehen für die Liebe, der Apfel (“sib”) symbolisiert Schönheit und Gesundheit, der Essig (“serkeh”, hinter dem Apfel) steht für Alter und Geduld, der Weizenpudding (“samanu”) steht für die Persische Küche, das rote Gewürz (“sumac”) repräsentiert die Farbe des Sonnenaufgangs, und die grünen Sprossen (“sabzeh”) repräsentieren den Kreislauf der Natur.
Dazu kommen noch einige andere traditionelle Symbole wie der Spiegel, Kerzen, traditionelle Süßigkeiten (mein Favorit ist ganz klar”Baklava”) und “Rosenwasser”, mit dem man sich Hand und Gesicht wäscht. Einige dieser Symbole werdet Ihr übrigens auch auf einem ähnlichen Tisch bei unserer Hochzeit wiederfinden.
Samstag Abend sind wir dann zu einer großen Neujahrs-Feier in einem Hotel gegangen, mit viel Essen und Musik — eine weitere Gemeinsamkeit mit unserer Hochzeit.
